NEWS According to Variety, young English director Rupert Wyatt, whose film The Escapist made a splash at Sundance this year, has been signed by Warner Bros. Pictures to direct a film version of Slipping Into Darkness, adapted from Peter's novel by Blake Masters, creator of the Showtime series Brotherhood. Peter's short story Going, Going, Gone has been added to the line-up for Symphony Space's Selected Shorts, the celebrated series that features distinguished actors reading short stories on NPR radio stations across the country. The dates of the broadcasts and the name of the actor reading the story are to be announced. After a long-sojourn in the underworld of Forgotten Books, Peter's second novel, Casino Moon, will finally be seeing print again as part of the splendidly–illustrated Hard Case Crime paperback series, which has also revived titles by Pete Hamill, Lawrence Block and Donald Westlake.
